October 2008

Finally an update. We have been so busy with work and having fun. The end of summer we were able to acquire a boat. Brad's dad had one that had just been sitting so we were able to take it and fix it up a little. It is just perfect for our family.

In October we were able to go to Park City and have a lot of fun.

Here is a picture of Beth on Grandma Barson's lap at the condo we stayed in.

Jake

Everyone always asks me how Jake is doing. Well here he is. 6 foot something and 220 lbs. He lives in Vernal and is working for a welding company. He just turned 20 this month. So my kids all range from 2 years old to 20. WOW! This is Harley and Jake.

Here is Jake with his sisters.

Here is Beth, Me, Harley, Jake, Darci and Jene'. We put the camera on a timer so we couldn't quite get Beth to look at the camera.

Beth's Birthday

Funny thing...we didn't have any candles. So my boy scout...(Brad)...made some from q-tips and rubbing alcohol. It actually worked quite well.

Bethany loved opening her presents.

Sept 11

It has been a very busy summer and I've been terrible posting pictures. But I had to put a remark about today and what a special day it is, in more ways than one.
Seven years ago today we had a terrorist act that impacted our country more than any other thing in quite a few years. We were violated on our own soil. I remember standing there in shock, wondering if that was the end of the world. I remember the days after mourning for the loss of thousands and for the loss of our security. For several days no planes flew in the air. The skys were silent. To me that was the weirdest thing. For the longest time and even now, I will always look up when I see a plane flying and I'm thankful. Thankful for our freedom.

Two years ago today we welcomed Bethany Olivia Barson into the world. I can't believe my baby is two years old. She is starting to talk and has such a fun personality. She loves all her brothers and sisters and loves when the Lehi bunch come to visit. She is so funny, she almost won't go to bed until all the other kids are in bed. I think she is afraid she'll miss something. She misses her daddy when he's at work. She loves to talk to him on the phone. I think she just likes hearing his voice. He called her this morning and she just smiled. It was so cute! She'll kiss the phone to give him kisses.

So today is a special day. Let's remember our freedom we have and be thankful for it! And we wish Beth a very Happy Birthday.
pictures will be coming soon :-)

We are building this at the very edge of our property line. Maybe a few feet from it. Kind of next to the garden. The kids are really excited to start playing.

Our New Toy

The kids always ask Brad what his next project will be whenever he finishes one. After the backyard was done the kids asked him. He said I'm done. Well, I had another idea. I wanted a playhouse for the kids with swings. I couldn't see spending a ton of money on one that I didn't like all the features. So we are designing our own. It's going to be awesome. This is just one tower. Jayson (my nephew) is spending a couple weeks with us so he is helping Uncle Brad.

Our First Camping trip of the Summer

We went to Three Peaks Campground which is exactly 7 miles from our house, straight up the road. We had a lot of fun and it was just nice to get away but not too far away.

Brad and I decided to go explore the campground for a few minutes. We left the kids by this rock. Well, they decided to climb and got stuck. They had to wait until we got back.

It is quite funny how no matter how big the men get there is always a little boy inside of them. We found this huge hole where someone had done some serious excavating. Of course stupid people roll their old cars down and other junk to collect at the bottom. Well, Brad spotted a few old tires. So he climbed down about half way to carry an old tire to the top so he could roll it back down. This steep hill was all very loose rocks. I thought he was crazy. He was just being a boy!

Crazy kids! We couldn't get them off the rocks. They were having so much fun climbing.

Yummy! Watermelon!

Beth says, "I told you if you slide down the rocks you're going to tear your pants."

Becca is King of the Camp!

Brad is the King of the Mountain!

Bo found a nice little "chair" in the rock by our camping spot. It was so comfortable that she took a nap.

Having fun outside in the nice cool evening.

Darci visits Jill

Darci gets bored at home when none of the other kids are here, so she got to go and spend the week at Jill's. She has only been there one day and already found 2 furry friends. Jill's new cats. Being that Brad and Bethany are very allergic we can't have any animals so it is a treat for Darci.

More fun on the rocks!

It scared us how high Harley, Jayson, Bryan and Darci were climbing. Holy moly!

Memorial Day Weekend

Jill and her 3 boys came down for the weekend. Brad and Felix both were working. We took the kids up to Cedar Breaks on Saturday. It was snowing and 25 degrees up there. Hopefully Jill will send me her pictures, because I forgot to take my camera with us.

Sunday we went to Parawan Gap. This is a Utah Historical Marker where there are petroglyphs and fun rocks for the kids to climb. They enjoyed scaring Jill and I by climbing so high.

Beth was sad that she couldn't climb also. She still had fun though.

Camping in the front yard

Harley, Becca, Bradon, Darci, Jene' and Bo decided they wanted to sleep in the tent. So came the task of setting it up.

Almost Summer

The weekend of May 17-18, 2008 felt so much like summer. It was in the high 80s and the kids had a blast playing in the sprinkler and eating watermelon. It took Bethany some time to figure out she liked it though.

Bradon's Baptism

Bradon was baptized on April 12, 2008. His dad was able to baptize him. It was a very neat, spiritual experience.
Congratulations Bradon!
